Volcanic eruption in kindergarten…

P1010012

Yesterday we completed a guided reading task in which the Little Learners drew…

 v-v-v…volcanoes.
{Guess what our sound focus was?}

Today the Little Learners finished them by pasting strips of cellophane at the top to become the lava explosion.

They used such great words to describe their volcanoes so an impromptu lesson followed.   I gave them marker pens and cardboard cards to have a go at spelling the words they were using.

The results were amazing.

They were proud of themselves and I was thrilled with their attempts.  I will display the words and pictures together tomorrow morning.

Looking forward to their ‘oo’s’ and ‘ah’s’ in the morning.
We will use the display and words to write independent sentences tomorrow.

Happy Thursday!

Hi Julie! I am new to the blogging world as well! I absolutely love your volcano activity! I have never seen anything like that before. I know the boys in my class would love it!
